Connect a Zimbra, iCloud or Nextcloud calendar

Link a calendar outside Google — Zimbra at OVHcloud, iCloud, Nextcloud, Fastmail — to Caryon Lead to see your meetings and send your invitations from your own mailbox.

Your calendar is not with Google? Caryon Lead connects to CalDAV calendars: Zimbra at OVHcloud, iCloud, Nextcloud, Fastmail… Everything works as with Google Calendar: your meetings in the Agenda, Caryon Lead's meetings in your calendar, and the invitations sent to your contacts.

Connect your calendar

Open the integrations

In Caryon Lead, open Réglages › Intégrations. The « Agenda et email » group holds the Agenda CalDAV tile. Turn its switch on: the « Connecter un agenda CalDAV » window opens.

Type your address and your password

Your full email address and the password of your mailbox. For iCloud, use an app-specific password, created on account.apple.com (Sign-In and Security › App-Specific Passwords): the password of your Apple Account does not work.

Your password is encrypted and only serves to read and write your calendar.

Click « Connecter »

Caryon Lead finds your server from your address (Zimbra at OVHcloud, iCloud, Infomaniak, Zoho, Yahoo, Fastmail…), signs in to it and finds your calendar. If your account has several, choose the one of your meetings, then click « Connecter » again. A message confirms that your calendar is connected and names the server found.

If your server is not found

If Caryon Lead does not find your server, the window asks you to choose it. You can also click « Choisir le serveur moi-même »:

  • OVHcloud Zimbra: your full email address and the password of your mailbox.
  • iCloud: your Apple Account and an app-specific password.
  • Infomaniak: the username given by Infomaniak's synchronisation assistant (e.g. AB12345, not your address) and the password of your account, or an app password if two-factor authentication is on.
  • Zoho (Europe or international, whether your account is on zoho.eu or zoho.com): your Zoho address and, if two-factor authentication is on, an app-specific password.
  • Yahoo: your Yahoo address and an app password, created in the security of your Yahoo account.
  • Autre serveur: the address of your server, in https:// (for Nextcloud, https://your-cloud/remote.php/dav), your username and, preferably, an app password.

A Gmail or Google Workspace address connects with the Google Agenda tile. Microsoft calendars (Outlook, Microsoft 365) do not use CalDAV: their connection is coming soon.

One calendar at a time

One calendar is linked to Caryon Lead per workspace: connecting a CalDAV calendar replaces Google Calendar, and the other way round. The connection stays personal: your colleagues have no access to it.

If the connection fails

The window tells you why:

  • Credentials refused: check the address and the password. For iCloud, use an app-specific password.
  • The server does not answer: check the address of the server.
  • Address refused: it must start with https:// and point to a server on the internet.
  • No CalDAV calendar at this address: the address is not the one of a calendar server. Ask your host for it.

What Caryon Lead does with your calendar

The same things as with Google, set by the same boxes in « Réglages »:

  • Your meetings in the Agenda: the « Agenda » card of the « Aujourd'hui » tab lists your events of the next 7 days, with « Ajouter à ma journée » for a meeting a contact sent you.
  • Past meetings logged in your contacts' history.
  • Your Caryon Lead meetings created in your calendar, updated or removed when you move or cancel them.
  • Invitations sent by your server. Your server sends the invitation, from your own mailbox: your contact receives it from your address and their answer comes back to your calendar. They also receive its changes and its cancellation.

A server that sends no invitations

Some servers do not send invitations themselves. Then the « Envoyer l'invitation à mes contacts » box is greyed out and says so: your meetings arrive in your calendar, without guests.

Change your password or disconnect

If you change your password, the tile shows « À reconnecter »: open « Réglages », then « Reconnecter », and type the new one.

To disconnect, turn the switch of the Agenda CalDAV tile off. The meetings already logged in your contacts' history stay.

The « Écrire à … » buttons still open a draft in Gmail or in Outlook on the web.
