Prospect from LinkedIn with the extension
Add a contact to Caryon Lead from their LinkedIn profile, spot the people you already follow, and find your LinkedIn messages in the history.
The Caryon Lead extension opens in a panel beside LinkedIn. It reads the page you are viewing, compares it with your workspace, and lets you add the person or the company in one click. If the extension is not installed yet, install it first.
Add a person from their profile
Open the profile and the panel
Beside the person's name (or, failing that, at the top right of the page), a badge tells you where they stand: « Dans Lead » (In Lead) if they are already in your workspace, « Ajouter à Lead » (Add to Lead) if not. Click it, or the extension icon, to open the panel.
Check « Ce qui sera ajouté » (What will be added)
The panel shows the first name, last name, job title, company, department, website and photo. The company is suggested from your portfolio; « Changer » (Change) opens a search to pick another. The department is guessed from the job title (« deviné du poste », guessed from the job title). Fix any value right in the panel.
Click « Ajouter à Caryon Lead » (Add to Caryon Lead)
The contact is created, and the person's state, at the top right of their card, becomes « Dans Lead ». Email and phone numbers are completed afterwards on their record.
If the company is not in your portfolio yet, the same search lets you add it together with the contact (if your role allows it). If your role does not allow adding contacts, the panel shows « Ajout réservé » (Adding restricted) instead.
Spot the people you already follow
- Beside the profile name, the badge « Dans Lead » (or « Ajouter à Lead »).
- In the lists of the page (search results, a company's people, suggestions), a small « Lead » badge follows the name of each person already in your workspace. Others have none.
- On the extension icon in the browser bar, a marker shows whether the person or company is already followed.
A person already in Caryon Lead
When the contact already exists, the panel shows their record:
- « LinkedIn indique autre chose » (LinkedIn says something different): when the profile differs from the record (job title, name…), each difference is offered. « Reporter » (Carry over) applies it field by field, « Tout reporter » (Carry over all) in one go. Nothing is ever overwritten without your click.
- Contact details (email, direct line, mobile, department, site) are completed in place.
- At the bottom, three quick actions: « Note », « Échange » (Exchange: a call, meeting or email already done) and « Relance » (Follow-up: tomorrow, in a week, in a month, or a day of your choice).
Duplicates and company changes
The panel asks one question at a time, with the likely answer as the main button.
- « Est-ce cette fiche ? » (Is this the record?; « Est-ce l'une de ces fiches ? » if there are several): a person with the same name exists in the company, with no LinkedIn profile on their record. « Oui, c'est cette personne » (Yes, this is the person) links the profile to the record; « Non, c'est quelqu'un d'autre » (No, it is someone else) goes on to the add.
- « A changé d'entreprise ? » (Changed company?): the person is followed at another company. « Suivre chez… » (Follow at…) creates a new record at the new company and keeps the old one with its history, marked « a quitté l'entreprise » (has left the company). « Il travaille aussi chez… » (They also work at…) creates a second record and leaves the old one alone. « Non, garder la fiche chez… » (No, keep the record at…) keeps the current record, and the question does not come back while LinkedIn shows the same company.
On a LinkedIn company page
On a company page, the badge « Dans le portefeuille » (In the portfolio) or « Ajouter à Lead » appears at the top right. The panel shows the companies of your portfolio that match the page, and the French legal entities with that name, those headquartered in the page's city first.
- The most likely one is ticked for you, as long as your workspace does not follow the company yet: « Ajouter au portefeuille » (Add to the portfolio) adds it in one click.
- The other entities, and the search under another name, are folded under « Autres entités au registre » (Other entities in the register).
- A company you already follow, recognised only by its name, is linked to the page with « C'est elle : lier à cette page » (It is her: link to this page).
Your assignment rules apply as for any new company.
Your LinkedIn messages noted automatically
While you are connected to the extension, the messages you exchange on LinkedIn with a contact of your workspace are noted in their history without a click: one « LinkedIn message » per contact, per day and per direction (sent or received), the day's messages being added to the notes of the same action.
If the panel is open at that moment, a quiet line says « Message noté dans Lead » (Message noted in Lead) with the contact's name and an « Annuler » (Undo) button, available for 60 seconds: it removes what was just noted.
What is read, and what is not
The extension only looks at the messaging you have in front of you, for one-to-one conversations and the last seven days. For someone who is not in your workspace, nothing is sent or kept. Group conversations, sponsored messages and contacts who asked not to be contacted are ignored.
The account menu
The panel's menu offers « Ouvrir Caryon Lead » (Open Caryon Lead), « Aide sur l'extension » (Extension help) and « Déconnecter l'extension » (Disconnect the extension). If you have several workspaces, the choice of the one where the extension saves your contacts is at the top of the panel.
What the extension never does
One profile at a time, the one you are viewing: no list import, no automatic browsing, no message sent on your behalf.
