Connect an AI agent (Claude, ChatGPT)
Connect Claude or ChatGPT to Caryon Lead and ask it in plain language to read and update your CRM.
An AI agent connected to Caryon Lead can look up a record, log a call or plan a follow-up for you from a simple sentence. It acts on your behalf, with your rights: never more than you.
Plan
AI agents are included in the Business and Enterprise plans, and during the trial. On Starter, the connection is refused.
Connect your agent
The Caryon Lead server address is the same for every agent:
https://api.caryon.app/lead/mcpAdd Caryon Lead in your agent
- Claude (claude.ai or Claude Desktop): Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector, then paste the address.
- Claude Code: run
claude mcp add --transport http caryon-lead https://api.caryon.app/lead/mcp. - ChatGPT: Settings › Connectors (turn on developer mode if needed), add a custom MCP connector and paste the address.
Sign in to Caryon ID
The agent registers itself, then sends you to Caryon ID. Sign in if you are not already.
Authorise the agent
A consent screen says « Claude souhaite accéder à Caryon Lead en votre nom » (Claude wants to access Caryon Lead on your behalf). Pick the workspace (only those where it is allowed are offered, the others are greyed out with their reason), tick « Lecture seule » (Read-only) if the agent must not change anything, then click « Autoriser » (Authorise). « Refuser » (Refuse) keeps nothing.
An agent is tied to one workspace. To use another, authorise it again and pick that workspace.
A tool that only accepts a header?
The server also accepts an API key sent as Authorization: Bearer cyk_…, instead of the consent screen.
What the agent can do
- Search your CRM: companies, contacts, deals, including on a partial word.
- Get the picture of a company, a contact or a deal, and read the pipeline stage by stage with each deal's freshness.
- Create: find a company by its SIREN in the directory and create it, add a contact, open a deal.
- Update a company or a contact, and move a deal to another stage (stage conditions are respected).
- Log a past exchange (call, email, meeting) with its outcome.
- Plan an action or a follow-up, read your agenda (today, the week, overdue actions), reschedule, complete or rewrite an action (title, notes, contact, moment and outcome of an exchange) — only yours, one assigned to you, or any action if you own or administer the workspace.
- Archive a company, contact, deal or action (with a reason, shown in the Journal), and restore it.
- Read the workspace context: pipelines, stages, statuses, members, tags.
The agent never deletes anything: it archives, and you can restore.
A few sentences to start with
- "Summarise the company Acme before my meeting."
- "Note that I called Marie Dupont, she will call back on Thursday."
- "Which of my actions are overdue?"
Limits and follow-up
- 30 calls per minute and 5,000 per day per agent. Beyond that, the agent has to wait a moment.
- If your Google or CalDAV calendar is linked, a meeting the agent plans goes there as it does from Caryon Lead, with the invitation to your contacts if you turned it on. An action it archives takes its event out.
- Everything the agent writes shows in the Change log, « via l'agent IA « Claude » » (via the AI agent "Claude"), under your name.
Remove an agent's access
In Caryon ID, open « Connexions » (Connections), section « Agents IA autorisés » (Authorised AI agents), then « Révoquer » (Revoke) on its line (« Annuler » stays available for 5 seconds). The agent is refused immediately.
Owners and admins see every member's agents in the workspace, under « API et agents IA » (API and AI agents), and can revoke them. They also find the « Agents IA » switch there: when off, agents are refused in the workspace without being revoked, and work again as soon as it is turned back on.
